Stratford Coed Softball Fact Sheet

Profile:

The Stratford Coed Softball League was founded and established by successful Entrepreneur Tiffany Aldridge, Former MLB player & Hall of Famer Kenny Spears and Former Brakettes & Hall of Famer Gladys Crespo along with coaches and managers who wanted to see the community unified in supporting social development in athletics and academics for adult recreation.

What We Believe:

We believe that competitive and recreational softball provide discipline, structure, and great opportunities to instill respect and leadership qualities in our community.

Who can be involved:

We are based in Stratford, Connecticut, but any team can join our association and play on our league.  We are open to all adults 18+ and over

Our Coaches/Managers:

Our commitment to our coaches/managers is to maintain a quality program.  We do this through constant communication with coaches/managers and our community members, as well as elected officials.  We believe engaging coaches/managers promotes their involvement and increases the success of our participants.

Why we’re different:

In addition to sports, we also have resources that help our community produce well-rounded individuals.  Our most anticipated successful program, “Peer Accountability”, highlights to participants the benefits and consequences of their efforts and behaviors off the field.  Our “Children Counts” program facilitates a discussion between participants and youth about character traits that are essential to becoming a responsible person.  Lastly, our “Pay It Forward” program provides opportunities for participants to give back to their community.

Programs:

Peer Accountability- utilizing each other resources
Children Counts- building up our youth
Pay It Forward- helping & cleaning our community
